EHR Features to Explore in Greater Depth
There are many reasons to get involved with EHR software, including the ability to save money. This may be one of the primary reasons to get started, but don’t stop there. It would be in your best interest to learn as much as possible about the many features your software provides.
On the surface, you understand the features you can access. You know what they can do for you and how they can benefit your patients. What you may not realize, however, is that these features go well beyond what you see on the surface.
Take for example the use of automated alerts and reminders. As you learn more about this feature, you will find that it can be used to keep you on track, regardless of what is happening around you (and we know just how busy you can get).
The same holds true regarding a customized form library. This appears to be nothing more than the ability to use a variety of forms. But as you learn more, you will find that you can customize your forms, all of which can be stored for future use.
It doesn’t matter which EHR features you have access to. What matters is that you learn as much as possible about the finer details of each one. As you do this, it will become apparent that your software is more powerful than you ever realized.
Which features do you consider the most important to your practice?
